Jardins du Monde – Gardens of the World

Traditional medicinal plants hold the keys to healing thousands of ailments and are a critical resource for people around the world. With the ongoing migration from rural communities to urban centers and a global reduction in plant diversity due to development, globalization and climate change, traditional knowledge and resources are being lost. The World Health Organization estimates that 80% of the world’s population uses medicinal plants today, either by choice or by necessity. In an effort to preserve this rich heritage, the French non-profit Jardins du Monde is working to promote the continued cultivation, preparation, documentation, and dissemination of traditional remedies.
